Home at Work

Just like in spring last year, many of us will only be commuting from our bedroom to our desk at home in the near future. This makes for less teambuilding during coffee breaks, but at least it shortens the commute. To ensure that the working hours at home are just as productive as those spent in the office, it helps to set up a comfortable, yet functional workspace. A well-furnished workspace starts with a proper chair for the right posture. And it includes a good desk, be it to pile up files or set down your computer. Another essential is a high-performance lamp for concentrated reading and working. Wohnidee Luzern can help with all these elements. We offer advice over the phone or by e-mail as well as home delivery of ordered furniture. To make sure you’ll look forward to going to work – even when you’re working from home. The only thing we do not offer is a fast internet connection …

Here are some of our favourites for the perfect workspace at home:

Wohnidee Luzern Embru Marchend

Atelier Chair by Embru
With unobtrusive elegance, the practical Atelier Chair by Embru signals: This is a working space! The simple, functional chair with its soft, rounded lines was drawn up by Swiss product designer Christophe Marchand. Height-adjustable and swivel-mounted, this office essential adapts perfectly to all needs – and fits easily into less spacious workspaces.

Wohnidee Luzern Embru Atelier Stuhl

Marchand Ateliersessel by Embru
The Marchand Ateliersessel by Embru is, so to speak, the big brother of the Atelier Chair. The fact that the two come from the same company – and from the same pen – is already evident from their similar design language with its soft, rounded lines. However, the Ateliersessel with its armrests and larger back is perhaps even a little more “relaxed”. Ideal if you want to be able to also lean back once in a while when working from home.

Wohnidee Luzern Hay AAC 123

About a Chair 153 Soft
The so-called “AAC 153 Soft” by HAY is one of the many chapters in the “About a Chair” story. This story originated on the drawing table of Danish designer Hee Welling and was brought to life by the Scandinavian company HAY. The iconic design with the round outer shell is transformed into a height-adjustable office chair on wheels with a softly upholstered seat in the AAC 153 Soft Duo. Because style matters, at home and at work!

Wohnidee Luzern String Works

Desk Works by String Furniture
The Works Desk by Swedish furniture company String was created by architect Anna von Schewen and designer Bjorn Dahlstrom. Their aim was to create an inviting, but at the same time flexible and ergonomic working environment. They succeeded. And: it can be perfectly combined with the simple, sophisticated and world-famous “String” shelving system by the same company.

Wohnidee Luzern Tisch Eiermann 1

Original Eiermann Desk
The desk by Egon Eiermann comes with a lightness that we perhaps all aspire to in our work. With its reduced yet stable frame and spacious tabletop, the “Original Eiermann” from 1953 has become a true furniture classic. We think: for good reason!

Wohnidee Luzern Hay CPH 90

Desk CPH90 by HAY
As simple as Scandinavian design, but with a touch of Paris: the CPH 90 Desk was designed by the Bouroullec brothers from France for the Danish label HAY and combines the best of both worlds. With its compact yet graceful design, it transforms even smaller rooms or niches into stylish and functional workspaces.

Wohnidee Luzern Dinamica

Dinamica Solo Desk by Identi
The Dinamica Solo Desk by Identi may be small, but it is a real quick-change artist. Not only does it fit into any niche, it can also be transformed from a classic sitting desk into a standing desk, a lectern or even a whiteboard stand in just a few steps. It can serve just as well as an even desk for the computer as it can as a draughtsman’s desk with a sloping work surface. And it can be conveniently rolled into the best light or out of the way again. Office furniture doesn’t get more flexible than this.

Wohnidee Luzern Tossa Littera

Desk Littera by tossa
With the Littera Bureau by tossa, you are opting for sustainable craftsmanship from Switzerland. Made of noble oak or black walnut wood, which has been carefully shaped, and with refined details such as the brass shelf, the elegant desk lays claim to timelessness. And who knows, maybe it will inspire thoughts that are just as long-lasting!

Wohnidee Luzern Baltensweiler Fez

Fez LED Floor Lamp by Baltensweiler
Poor lighting at the workplace makes people tired and unable to concentrate. Fortunately, the Fez LED floor lamp by Baltensweiler will not stand for it! Thanks to two powerful LEDs, the Fez LED lamp creates perfect lighting conditions, with includes an indirect lighting option. Clearly, this lamp is not a dazzler.

Wohnidee Luzern Baltensweiler Let

Let LED Lamp by Baltensweiler
The Let LED lamp also comes from the Swiss lighting manufacturer Baltensweiler. Filigree and functional at the same time, the Let floor lamp allows for quick adjustment and infinite light options thanks to a ball joint. And it keeps energy consumption low while you are “enlightened”. So, shine on!
